Q: What exactly is the Pilates method?
A: Pilates (pi-LAH-teez) exercise, performed in the U.S. since the 1920’s, is named after it’s inventor, Joseph H. Pilates. The Method encompasses more than 500 controlled, precise movements designed to stretch and strengthen muscles without adding bulk and improve musculoskeletal function. The exercises require concentration and deep coordinated breaths- working body and mind. They focus on the body’s vital energy core (which is abdominal and lower back musculature) to build strength and agility in a balanced way. The exercises are performed on a padded floor mat or with special apparatus such as a Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Tower and Magic Circle. The spring resistance of the Pilates apparatus will create muscles that are strong, lean and well aligned.

Q: Who are your clients?
A: I have clients from all walks of life. I enjoy the diverse mix of people that I work with every day.
Q: Is Pilates right for me?
A: Pilates Mat classes are exercises that are performed lying on your back, side or front. Some the exercises are done seated or on all fours. The Mat Classes can be challenging for some individuals, where the Pilates apparatus instruction would be more appropriate than a class setting. If you have concerns, discuss your exercise program with your healthcare professional for advice.
Q: How is Lowcountry Power Pilates, LLC different from other studios?
A: I work with individuals who would like to compliment their physical and mental wellbeing, who have been challenged to achieve their fitness goals previous to my assistance and would like to make themselves look and feel the best they can be Mind, Body and Spirit. Because of my extensive training, (over 600 training hours logged) knowledge, and experience my clients receive proven and extremely specific training sessions.
Q: Does Pilates really work?
A: The quote from Joseph H. Pilates is accurate! “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see the difference and in 30 sessions you’ll have a different body.”
Q: Can I contact some of your clients to see what it’s like to work with you?

Q: How often do you recommend that I practice Pilates?
A: It is recommended that you do Pilates 2 – 3 times a week to see dramatic results to your body.
Q: If I am not sure I’m ready to get started do you offer any Introductory Classes to try them out?
A: Yes, we have an Introductory Package of Classes to try. Contact me for further information.
Q: Do you offer any discounts or accept credit cards?
A: Yes, there are several packages to choose from in both the Mat Classes and Equipment. We also accept credit cards for your convenience.
