Joyce
Joyce Olender moved to Mt. Pleasant in 2005 after having spent many summers vacationing in Charleston with her family. She is originally from New Jersey where she became a certified Johnny G Spinning Instructor and Power Pilates Trainer. In addition, she has a B.S. in Business Administration. Joyce has experience helping clients with special needs, such as pre and post-natal conditions, as well as those recovering from injury, surgery or a stroke. After having a back injury several years ago, and seeing the results that Pilates gave her, she decided to learn all she can about training clients with back injuries and special needs. Her energy, patience and knowledge give her the ability to work with clients of all levels.
Katie
Katie Watson has been a fitness instructor since 1998. Katie has competed in several half-marathons and completed her first Century Ride in 2001. In her free time she enjoys running, cycling, water sports, and most notably watching my children give it their all on the soccer field. Her personal motto is to always challenge yourself! Katie recently completed her training in the Lowcountry Barre technique and is now a certified barre teacher through Lowcountry Power Pilates.
Jenn
Jenn Simpson has been an avid Pilates fan for several years. After also enduring an unplanned c-section, Jenn used Pilates to regain core strength and confidence. A true sports enthusiast, Jenn enjoys watching and playing almost every sport, but her favorite – by far – is certainly soccer. A mother of one, she is an aspiring Lowcountry soccer mom. She also recently completed her training in the Lowcountry Barre technique and is now a certified barre instructor through Lowcountry Power Pilates.
Renee
An interior designer by day, Renee Anthony has always tried to find a balance between work and taking care of her body. As a child, Renee danced ballet, tap and jazz. Carrying this passion into her adulthood she searched for a motivating program that incorporated different routines and helped her stay in shape. Renee was hooked from the quick results Lowcountry Barre gave her body, and she decided to get involved. She recently obtained her certification and is passionate about sharing her knowledge of barre moves while combining techniques learned from years of strength training with certified trainers and gym classes. Renee continues to educate herself about the body and enjoys making her classes fun for everyone each week.
Sigourney
Sigourney Schipper began her active lifestyle as a child playing field hockey and enjoying horseback riding and ballet. After enduring several injuries to her ankle, knee, hip, back and shoulder she discovered Pilates to help regain some of the feeling and strength that she had lost. Now a certified personal trainer and Lowcountry Barre instructor, Sigourney loves to add fun and diversity to her barre classes. It gives her a chance to blend the classical ballet that she loved with a new modern twist. As Coco Chanel says, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
