Joyce Ganzermiller
Owner & Operations Director

Joyce Ganzermiller

Joyce relocated to Mount Pleasant in 2005 after a vacation in Charleston turned into something more permanent. Originally from New Jersey, she earned her Mat/Core certification in New York in February 2004 and her comprehensive systems certification in August 2005. A severe back injury at twenty-five led her from hospital administration to Pilates in 2000 — the studio she opened five years later was the body she rebuilt, made teachable.

Specialty

Structural injuries — back and neck, joint replacements, post-surgical recovery, stroke rehabilitation.

The team

Ten more, each with their own way in.

  1. Jill Filatov
02Certified Complete Apparatus Power Pilates Instructor

    Jill Filatov

Jill found Pilates in early-2000s Albany, where it became the first exercise she genuinely enjoyed beyond burning calories. She taught across multiple studios in Albany, in Stamford, and at a women's-health physical therapy practice in Norwalk before joining Lowcountry Power Pilates. An avid golfer; she works to see her clients' strength, flexibility, and general wellbeing improve session over session.

    • Power Pilates Certified, March 2004
  2. Catherine Durst
    03Certified Power Pilates Instructor

    Catherine Durst

Catherine has lived in South Carolina for over thirty years, originally from Concord, NC. A twenty-five-year career took her through the SC Department of Education, the executive directorship at Children's Chance, and pharmaceutical sales. Fourteen years teaching Pure Barre in Mount Pleasant and Tampa preceded her Pilates work. During chemotherapy in 2021 she recognized — in her words — how much Pilates strengthened her body and mind in the middle of limitation. She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband Steve and their two children.

  3. Kelly Lambrakos
    04Certified Power Pilates Instructor

    Kelly Lambrakos

Kelly came to fitness instruction the way teachers often do — naturally. After kickboxing in 2004, she met Joyce at East Shore Athletic Club and crossed over into Pilates. Mat classes, then Reformer training, then a long pause through two children and full-time work. She returned to teaching the way the practice itself returns: the same body, knowing more.

Indiana native, a twenty-three-year Procter & Gamble corporate-finance career took her from Baltimore to Costa Rica to Cincinnati. She retired in 2018 and trained as a Pilates and yoga instructor at Fitness Physiques in Cincinnati. She moved to Isle of Palms in 2020 with her husband and their two Portuguese Water Dogs. Beach walks, tennis, cooking, and a daily yoga practice fill the rest.

            Joanelle Rojas

She moved to Charleston in 2022 from Raleigh, NC. After dealing with back issues for many years, she discovered Pilates as a way to ease pain and strengthen her body — and, like so many others, quickly fell in love with the practice. That journey led her to become an instructor through Classical Pilates Education, a decision she considers one of the best she's ever made. She's passionate about helping others feel stronger, supported, and more connected to their bodies, and is happy to be a part of the LCPP team.
